why do you always have to take something too far before realizing you have a problem..?

Post by Connor on 2013-11-30, 05:52

It's taken me too long to realize... I'm a total joke of a human being. I spend hundreds and thousands of dollars at the casino and sure I may win or hit a lucky streak but in the last two weeks I have come to finally realize I have a problem. I've spent a total of 4000 dollars at the casino in the past couple weeks... Sure that jackpot I won last night was fine, but spending 1500 dollars tonight playing poker has finally been my breakin point. They say people learn from their mistakes, but clearly I've had one too many mistakes and it has cost me...

I've never felt so sick in my life. Not only has my gambling problem spread through the casino, but it's spread onto Rs... I've spent 1000s of dollars on gold, always the same thing happens... I rebuy my skiller bank and end up reselling it just to wager it. I regret to inform you my days in the irc, gambling, have come to an end. There are times in our life where we fuck up, but that doesn't begin to explain how I feel. I can't imagine how much money I'd have now if I'd never joined this clan....

What the fuck is wrong with me..... What kind of person have I become? You know, I rarely have found moments in my life where I actually cry about something, but I think I finall found one of those moments....

Just steer clear of the Casino and only bet money you made from Rs here (if you feel like it). I know I'm oversimplifying the solution but I'm not really a pro at stopping gambling addiction :/

Put all your money in the bank, keep only however much it takes you to get through the week in your wallet/sock, then freeze your debit card in a block of ice. #end

    - #end
Or, put everything minus what you need to survive in savings every week. Try and fill up your life as well. If you have too much free time, you'll want to go gamble. Try going out with friends or something Smile

    Agreed with Christina.
You'd be surprised how great of a feeling it is, to know you have cash in your bank and you're only betting 10% of it. Especially if it's like a large amount

Here's a method to reduce the addiction.
If you make let's say 100m in a week(With no gambling), bet like 50m in the next week to satisfy your gambling needs. Keep doing this and keep reducing the amount you bet. You'll end up wanting to save up money and not gamble at all, cause after every week you'll keep realizing that in the end you will lose the money no matter what.

JUST REMEMBER EVERY TIME BEFORE STARTING TO GAMBLE:
    1. In my past how many times have I profited from gambling?
    2. If I have profited , how many times have I stopped and actually kept the profit?
Idk if this makes sense or helps, but it helps for me.

If you find a solution then great, if not, then your best option is to quit rs (to stop rs gambling, idk about irl). I have a gambling problem (only in rs) too sort of, but I don't mind cause I don't buy Pennys, nor do I gamble irl.
    Good luck

Btw, failure is the greatest success.
    :p

See a counsellor for your addiction, take some CBT sessions, this: http://www.wikihow.com/Overcome-an-Addiction

    Good luck.

Connor, never buy rs gold just stop :/... buying gold is horrible... and about your gambling issue irl, just visit a gambling problem hotline or so... I found one here but not sure if that's where you live http://www.problemgambling.ca/Pages/Home.aspx otherwise you can look for other hotlines to help you stop gambling.

thanks for the advice Christina. All of my money I do but into a savings/chequing account already. Right now especially its hard to go out with friends because they are all in school right now. I sometimes go 2-3 weekends without seeing them because they have so much homework and stuff like that. Poker has also become my escape from reality. I go there to get away from my problems, but it has now become one of my problems.... I'd hang out with my girlfriend, but we kinda hit a rough patch right now and I don't like how things are looking between us....

Some people have to lose billions in Rs before they finally stop gambling...and even then, they don't truly stop. This also applies to real life.
Luckily it only took losing 148M for me to "stop."
    Best of luck Connor. :s

It took me a very long time, but it has been nearly a year since I last bet any Pennys.

I prioritized other parts of my life like Youtube, Streaming, and Basketball in order to steer away from gambling.

Get a girlfriend, and spend all your money on her or find an expensive hobby besides gambling that doesn't involve losing money with no return.

    That's problem #1 lol.

We can't help you if you can't help yourself Connor. Go talk to your parents, they will be your best ally in trying to overcome your addiction.

Your post makes no sense... But I guess 14 year olds such as yourself feel they need to input on areas they have absolutely no expertise in. But then again, it is just you..
