    IRL Poker Venture

    Post by Phat4tw on 2015-05-08, 02:02

    My IRL Poker Venture

Note: I have played Texas Holdem Poker for approximately 10 years and this should not be attempted at home.
The days were not one after another I just did it like that for the purpose of convenience and understanding.
Also Note: Every time I go to the casino I start with $100 so the profits are all from $100. If I lose the $100 I leave.

Day 1: First ever time at the casino 1 week after turning 18. -$100

Day 2: Came back for vengeance. +$150

Day3: Slow day with not many cards. +$20

Day4: Got a few decent hands and played well. +$240

Day5: Played at Crown Casino Melbourne. +$150

Day6: Had a real bad beat (buyin was only 50 @ crown). -$50

Day7: Back to the usual casino. +$220

Day8: Back to usual Casino. Called an all in (pre-flop) I had AK he had QQ. Cards were 10 3 7 6 2. Lost the 600$ pot... But thats poker for you. -$150

    Day9: Usual Casino. +164

    Total Earnings: $644

I can't leave the casino unless I make 3x what I buy in with. That's how I made 10,000 in 2 months Smile

You have no idea how to play poker. Please dont respond to my thread.

I knew he had lower Pair. Hence I had a high probability to winning the hand. But poker fucks you over sometimes.

it is more probable than not that QQ beats AK even if the AK was suited

If you knew he had a lower pair whether it was pre flop or after, and you only have high card, that still isn't the best of play even if it's A-K. You've made a nice amount though so I can't argue too much about your methods.

Lmao, Phat, you fucking joke. A "lower" pair in a 2 player hand is more favored than your AK, even if it's AKs. I encourage you to find any hold'em calculator that shows AK beating even deuces. AK doesn't hit most flops

It just wasn't a good move with respect to your total bankroll that day. Even if you are faced with the 'flip' of shoving against a low pair, there's still several hands that have you absolutely destroyed, like Kings and Aces.

Your opponent wasn't short stacked, which is the only justification for your shoving, because the pot was $600 and you said you cashed in for $150, or something like that. And he was probably in an earlier position, so your situation is even more precarious.

Ace King is a hand that almost always should be delegated to play against a short stack, and should never be pushed *pre-flop* (3-betting, 4 betting) against multiple opponents. The equity you can get when your opponent folds, short-stacked, against AK justifies the shove.

Again, terrible, incoherent logic. Of course, you can make a few hundo at the Indian Casinos against tourists, anybody can. So....If you actually think you're half decent, I'll play you $100 heads up on any site of your choice.

Are you rolled enough for that? One or two HU games aren't going to determine who is better, you're going to need a much larger sample size. Otherwise, you might lose to a fish on a heater in the first match and he/she will think they are better than you.

No, it depends on blinds. If it's turbo, you may be right. If the blind sizes are small enough, I win.

Love how allen thinks he knows about every hand without even sitting at the table and seeing the movement of the other players. He also thinks he could beat me 1v1. Lol.
